The bags I put in the shop last Monday went so quickly, A BIG THANK-YOU!!! I will be putting more bags in the shop on Monday (tomorrow) and these will have a slightly longer handle per the request of several people in a previous post. Now you will be able to wear your wrap it up bag on your shoulder for those times when your hands are full. Spring is in the air (even though it is snowing here), so these bags will speak to you with color!

I love this pattern! This has to be the easiest pattern I have ever made for a skirt. A friend of mine gave me this rayon material a while back, so really, the only cost I had for the skirt was for the elastic in the waistband and the thread. I made view "B" of New Look 6463 in misses size 13 (it doesn't really come in a size 13, I just cut it out between the size 12 and size 14 lines). View "B" only has 3 pattern pieces and I decided to only use two of them, omitting the belt. It was so easy to put together and now I'm looking for more fabric to make more. I love wearing simple skirts in the summertime, they are so breezy and cool. This one happens to look great with my chacos and mountain hardware vest (which is a staple in my wardrobe!). Here it is on me, with the aforementioned vest:

You all know those pay it forwards that were going around a while back? I signed up with Lisa's PIF, and I received my package in the mail this week! I was SSSOOOOO excited, and impressed!
Isn't this the cutest tote you have EVER seen? I believe it was made exclusively from one pillowcase. What a great idea and pattern. I LOVE, love, love the piping and the print is to die for!!! It's so perfect!!! That's not all......
She also sent this little fabric covered notebook and........ EGGMAN!!!!! He is so cute. Lisa had stuffed him with a butterfinger cadbury egg, which I promptly ate. Eggman seemed rather relieved to be rid of the egg too, so we were both happy. We introduced ourselves, chatted for a while and then he wanted to take a walk. He really is a curious egg. He was rather enamored with the fire from this candle but when I explained to him what would happen if he got too close, he got this crazy look on his face:
and screamed like a girl! He has been hiding away in a box since and doesn't want to come out!!! Please, please pray for my Eggman!

I am updating my Etsy shop with some more wrap-it-up bags! I have updated the pattern as well, making a boxed bottom, changing the position of the snap, and updated the handle as well. I have a question for you though. Would you prefer *edit-the appearance of* the handles to be like the ones in this picture:
OR, like these:
edit: Just for clarification, the wrap it up bags are for shopping/groceries. The handles are meant to be carried by hand since they may ultimately end up stuffed to the gills with stuff.
I would really appreciate your input!

When I was eight or so ( I am guessing), my dad (I can't remember this event very clearly, I think it was my dad) bought a cut-out apron pattern for me to sew up for my mom. You know the kind I'm talking about, the pattern is printed in the material and all you have to do is cut out the pieces and follow the simple directions to sew it all together. My mom still wears it. I had forgotten all about it until our last visit to see them and there it was, it the drawer with all the linens. Hum. I looked at it and my mom reminded me that I had indeed made it for her all those years ago. Upon examining the stitching, I recognized the back and forth stitches at the beginning and end of each seam (gotta make sure those darned stitches don't go anywhere) proving the fact that I had made it. The pattern is very basic and to jazz things up a bit (and to add my own little signature I guess) I sewed a heart around the man and woman on the front of the apron print. As I was pondering the apron my mom had kept for all these years, I decided it was indeed time for a new apron. My dad confirmed this in an email suggesting I make her a new one. I'm posting this before I actually get it in the mail to her, I just couldn't wait because it turned out so precious!!!! It's totally reversible and since one of her favorite colors is blue and my dad's is red, I HAD to include these two colors in it.
I altered the hemline to be a scalloped edge instead of the straight hem of the original pattern. Overall, I am very pleased with how it turned out. I do think next time I will fore go the interfacing in the bodice area however.
