I need feedback please!! I had a pair of linen overalls that I refashioned into this messenger bag. I plan on carrying books and notepads in it to church or whatever casual meetings come up. My question is, are the hemline creases on the flap too distracting (a nice way to put it) or not? Please give me your (honest even if it's not nice) feedback!

Hi Penny!
I like your messenger bag a lot. I think the hem creases are fine as is, but I almost want to see something else like ? grogain ribbon or ? trim? something stitched right in the middle of those creases. What do you think?
I love the bag, you did great on that!

I like the creases too. Something with buttons might accent the creases well... scattered maybe?
PS, I really like my PIF bag. My knitting LIVES in it.

I think the creases give it great texture. In fact I thought you did that on purpose at first. What a great remodel. However, if you're not completely sold on the crease look (like if its the bottom hem on the pant and you need the yardage to complete the bag) turn them into pin tucks like on a recent bag I made. But I really like it 'as is' too. The little rose is cute too. In fact it looks like something you'd see in a Japanese crafting magazine.

I think that it's fab.The creases add to it,almost like a different texture on the fabric. That fabric rose is like the cherry on top of a sundae.Perfect!

hey there Penny! I really love the new bag...my favorite part is the ruffly accent around the edge. I think that the detail you are asking about fits well with the other things you have done.
I guess what I am trying to say is it blends well together! The flower tops it all off...very eye pleasing to me! :)

It doesn't bother me. If you want them out, you could try ironing them after spritzing them with a little vinegar & water.

Actually, the creases are my favorite detail. I thought at first that you had put extra seams across for decoration. It reminds me of something from Anthropologie, but this is the genuine article. The flower lends a stark feminine contrast to the brown linen, which is eye-catching and lovely. I think it will look sweet toting books to church :)

Seriously, I love the creases. I thought they were 'meant ' to be there when i first saw the pic. Adds to the bags character - not a problem at all :)
