New labels, a surprise and two awards...

                      

I finally got it in gear and made up some fabric labels yesterday.  I've had the special printer fabric to do it for oh, 6 months or so!  I cannot believe I didn't do them sooner. 

                         

This is just a little surprise gift of a diaper changing pad and flannel blanket I'm going to mail off this week to a special someone who is expecting....

               

                            

Also, recently I received two awards from a couple of awesome bloggers that I'd like to share with you.

Thank-you all so much for your entries and wonderful comments in the little beauty  giveaway!  I had the pleasure of "meeting" so many wonderful-new-to-me bloggers out there and enjoyed every moment!  I really do wish I had a little beauty to send each and every one of you!!

I have been been using Google Reader lately to keep track of my favorite blogs and really do love it in so many ways.  I don't know why it took me so long to start utilizing it!  It was fairly time consuming to get all the blog addresses entered, but now when I come across a new blog I like, it is so easy to add them to my reading list.  I guess there are only two things I really don't like about it.  The first has to do with leaving comments.  To leave a comment about a post(which I love to do), you have to leave Reader and go to the actual blog post which makes it an extra step.  Is there anyway around this?   The other dislike is not being able to see the person's blog header and background on the post.  I really enjoy the aesthetic part of reading someone's blog and I really do miss out seeing their creative touches to their cyber-space when using reader (unless of course I leave a comment, then I end up seeing the actual blog).  What do you all think about these blog reading services?  Which one do you like the best and why?

I have been doing a lot of sewing lately but haven't taken the time to get pics yet.  One thing I did get pics of though is this blanket I made for a friend at work who is expecting

            

                  

I used this tutorial and just added the ric-rak to it.  Very easy!

Little Beauty of a giveaway!

I cannot believe I'm about to do this. 

JUST TODAY, I rode my little bikey down to the thrift shop and found "little beauty".

                                     

She had a few orangey grease stains on her, but I washed her up and now she's sparkling again.   Someone invested a lot of love and time in little beauty, sewing a lot of the construction as well as the smocking/decorative stitches by hand.

Back to the story.  I've been planning on doing a giveaway and just had not quite figured out something I felt was worthy, until I saw little beauty.  I went back and forth several times whether I should make her part of the giveaway but I finally decided this afternoon to bless the socks off someone with her. 

I was going to wait until tomorrow to write up this post, but Wisdom kicked in and I decided I should post this NOW before I change my mind and keep her for myself! (and she is SOOOOO cute on me!)

kitchen swap goodies!!

 

Yay!!  I received a package from my partner Clare from Sarah's kitchen-swap and I am almost speechless!  I had asked Clare for a half-apron and boy did she do it right!  I love the colors, the embroidery detail, every thing about it!   And then, just to top it all off, she also sent a picnic cutlery/napkin roll, a tea cup with tea, some fabric samples and a recipe book which she HANDWROTE some recipes in for me! 

                                                                              

                        

Here is a pic of the things I sent to Clare.  She asked for one of my chrysanthemum hotpads in red/white, so I sent that plus a few more goodies.
