Well, I guess they have actually been back for a couple weeks now. They gather in the crabapple trees when there is snow on the ground and eat the fruit that is still holding onto the trees. It seems a little weird to me that a bird that feeds mainly on worms would be in Colorado in January, but what do I know? We also have a woodpecker (which looks like this) that looks for bugs on our deck, in January. Good thing I'm not the little birdie traffic controller, they'd all starve.
