I started this quilt for myself a couple days ago with no plan. I didn't realize until I had it partially completed that it fits perfectly for my project as part of project improv!
As I started working on it, I decided that this quilt will be full of things I love. I'm not making blocks per se, but just adding strips or pieces of material as I see fit so I'm definitely not making this quilt in a traditional way. I sew a piece on here, and then there and I'm just kind of enjoying the process. You can see in the upper left corner the teapot I made a couple days ago, and I just finished sewing a little cottage block into the quilt that I made a while back. For some reason, I have accumulated a few odd quilt blocks in the last couple months that I really love, but for one reason or another, did not use. They will all be a part of this quilt.
So far, I have used only scrap pieces of fabric and those orphan blocks I spoke of. I'm really loving that about this quilt so far! Within the top so far, I have scraps that Sarah, Claire, Amy, and Sheree have sent to me and the inspiration of countless other women. I cannot wait to see what this quilt top ends up looking like. One thing I know for sure, it will be full of the things of my heart!
