I decided that since I have a new bag, a new iPhone cover was in order. The black leather cover I've used since I bought the phone almost 2 years ago is just no longer sufficient.
Here's how I did it.
Supplies:
2 pieces 3 X 5.5 inch double sided fusible Peltex 72F 4 pieces 3 X 5.5 inch fabric of choice 12 inches single fold bias tape paper template 1.5 X 4 inches
First, following the instructions with the peltex, adhere your fabric to both sides of the interfacing. You will notice one side has a plastic cover. Adhere the fabric to the opposite side first, then peel off the plastic coating
and adhere fabric to the other side.
Repeat this process with the other sheet of peltex and remaining 2 pieces of fabric.
Now go ahead and round the corners of both pieces.
Next, round the corners of the paper template and trace around it onto the back side of the front of the cover like so:
Now cut on the line and take the center out.
Next, sew the biased tape onto this center edge you just cut out. I used a narrow blanket stitch to do this to ensure I caught the tape on both sides.
At this point, I used a wider blanket stitch around the top curve of both pieces.
Using that same wider blanket stitch and with wrong sides together, sew the front to the back starting just below the curve on the upper right all the way around to just below the curve on the upper left.
There you have it, your own personalized iPhone cover!
