It's coming along. I sewed all the blocks together last night and this morning. Now I'm thinking of what to use for the backing (something simple I think. Maybe some stripes of solid kona cotton pieced together) and the same stripes of solid pieced kona cotton for the binding. Yeah, I think that's what I'll do. Since my quilt "things of my heart" is kind of at a standstill right now, I'm going to count the rose quilt as my project improv project.
I'm finding out I am such a color lover I need to be a little careful when choosing fabrics for a project. I think this quilt would have looked more cohesive if I'd put the roses on a solid fabric instead of a different print for each rose. It almost seems like you have to go hunting to find the roses because it's so busy.
One day I'll grow up and be like Jacquie and be able to plan (like she did for this quilt) and think it through, but for now, the busyness suits me!
