Good Monday Morning to you all!!!  I've got some exciting things to share today, so I'll give you a disclaimer first.  This post may be a little wordier than normal, but well worth the read, if you can make it!

Firstly, I've put together some really sweet Footstool Pincushion KITS!!!  Each of these kits contain everything you need to make a footstool pincushion (with the exception of some wood glue and two acrylic paint colors).

 

There are two types of kits available:  kits for machine piecing the hexagons (which have precut hexies):

 

and kits for machine or paper piecing the hexagons (which have 2X2 (ish) squares so you can either use the template to cut and machine piece, or use the template to paper piece them): 

 

And yes, in the pattern I've included a tutorial for how to machine piece hexagons.

This weekend was a busy sewing weekend for me.  Among other things, it really felt good to get my pillow talk swap4 pillow done.  It's a double sided pillow cover with a zipper insert.  I'm calling it "red hot".  I think it's a pretty sleek little number for sure.

cRazY Mom QuiLts retreat recap

 A few adjectives to describe the retreat with Amanda Jean last weekend are:

• encouraging

 

• informative

 

• enlightening

I made so many mistakes with these potholders!  I couldn't get the lattice to line up, my binding isn't full, the place where the binding comes together is a mess....  In lieu of all this, I feel inspired to work on a few details with my quilting that will improve the quality of my finished pieces of artwork!

 

• crazy fun

Everyone brought scraps to exchange and we sat and looked through every single scrap for hours, just to make sure we didn't miss anything.  I have to say, sitting in a huge pile of scraps and just throwing them around is my kind of fun!

 

• fattening, but worth every morsel

 

• filled with relationship
