Happy Good Friday to you!
I thought I'd share a few more pretties from the workshop last weekend...
"Y" seam and paper piecing practice:

Another paper piecing practice block, turned into a potholder:

Here are the potholders from the potholder swap we did:

The one I received is the starburst one, 4th from the left, from Audrey!
And do you remember this apron I received from the spicing up the kitchen swap from Darci? Well, I added two pockets and a loop to it so I can always have my sewing necessities and iPhone at hand. As you can tell from the photo, I wear it all the time!

And make sure you check out these posts from a couple of the people who attended the workshop!
And a big, HUGE thank-you to Saral Paper Corp and the Fat Quarter Shop who helped to sponsor prizes for the retreat. We love you guys!!!
I hope your day is full of fun and surprises and your Easter is full of joy!!
Hugs to you!

I'm so glad I came across your blog this morning! I've spent a happy 1/2 hour looking at your beautiful projects while nursing a sleepy baby.
We live on the Snake river in Idaho so I completely relate to your love of kayaking/outdoors AND quilting. Quilting is the perfect thing for cold weather, then out to enjoy beautiful nature when the weather warms up! We purchased 3 tandem inflatable kayaks last year and they have been SO much fun.

Wow, that Y seam and paper piece P are great! Do you have any resources for learning paper piecing? I'd love to learn how to make neat things like that.

I am getting such a happy vibe off all the pics on the different blogs. I just know you are a good teacher, I feel it in my teacher bones!

I had the best time at the retreat, and you are such a great teacher! I have checked out a book by Ruth McDowell from the library, and I keep bookmarking pages of techniques to try. Thanks for being so encouraging to all of us that we can make awesome blocks like yours!

Love those new prints! I just saw on Denyse Schmidts Facebook page that she said there will be a limited FMF reprint Jan 2012!!! Thought you might like to know! :) This is what she said in a comment to a post on her Facebook wall:
Adding a fabric collection specifically for chain store distribution (under DS Quilts Collection) is a way to strengthen the Denyse Schmidt brand overall, which benefits everyone. A Philly-based brick-and-mortar shop owner who was in my workshop this weekend put it this way: "a rising tide lifts all ships." My independent shop customers will always have different fabric designs than the chain stores. I'll be adding new quilt patterns for my independent customers this fall. With FreeSpirit, I'm reprinting a limited Flea Market Fancy collection for January 2012, and a whole new collection of prints for FreeSpirit in Spring 2012. My new book of 20 traditional quilt patterns (STC Craft) will also be out in spring 2012. Hopefully, we'll get more and more people sewing and quilting, and exploring all their shopping options!
And there was much rejoicing!! YEAH!!! :)

It's fun to see my worlds colliding. I read your blog, Ayumi's, and Amanda Jean's. These potholders remain inspiring no matter how many times I see them.
