I really am the last to know most things.
Yesterday I found out that as of March 1, google discontinued the google friend connect widget from non google blogs (the follow me widget). So you know what that means? I no longer have access to the follow me button on my sidebar because I have a typepad blog! I'm not sure who's genius idea this was, but to say the least, well, I'm not even going to say it.
Anyway, if you're a follower of sewtakeahike through google friend connect, I'm not sure that I will show up on your blog list anymore.
I'm looking into a few options, but for now I've added the google + follow button to my sidebar and if you feel so inclined, you can follow sewtakeahike that way.
*I've actually updated my sidebar with a "like" button for my page on facebook. I have to say, I have no idea how fb works right now, but it looks like I'll be figuring it out soon!
Ugh! All this internet stuff can really drive a person mad!
I hope you all are having a great weekend!
Penny
p.s.
Here's a shot of a quilt top I put together yesterday from a years worth of participation in the 3X6 bee in 2010.

The color scheme I chose for each quarter was orange, white and gray. I'm thinking some straight line quilting is in order for this beauty!

You just came through in my google reader.

Lesthook, yeah, google reader is different from the google friend connect widget. Ah well, at least google reader is still working!

Yeah-you came thru on mine, too.

I use Google reader and you are still there :)

Love the quilt top. I have blocks from the bee and have to figure out whether to use sashing or not. Yours looks great without!

Yes I actually noticed you missing in blog list last week and meant to let you know because I had tried to re-follow you and it wouldn't let me. I am now following you via my Google reader but am left wondering what other blogs that I used to follow have mysteriously disappeared. Dam Google!

Oh and I meant to comment that your latest orange/grey/white is a beauty! Look forward to seeing it all quilted.

you are still on my google reader. love the quilt!

As others have said, you do still show up :) Blogspot bloggers can even still add you if they hadn't before. Just by going to their dashboard at the bottom where it shows all the blogs you follow and clicking add and type your URL. :) I even tried it! I know that doesn't do you much good, I just thought I'd mention it in case anyone wanted to and didn't know how.

I added you on to Google reader, sometimes I click on the follow button on blogs too. I don't really understand how most of it works though. I thought the follow button would add it to Google reader but I guess it doesn't. By the time I figure most of it out, they will change it even more.

you are still on my blog list! :) love the quilt and the color choices, it's beautiful! :) xo

Oh, my goodness, that's gorgeous!
I have no idea why all the negative changes at Blogger/Google lately but it has affected the number of comments I get and my ability to comment on other blogs. It seems every other post I read this week has a rant about it. It's no fun.

That quilt is a beauty! My favorite blocks are the union jack and the offset squares.

What a lovely color combination. Also I'm still getting you in Google Reader.

The quilt is gorgious and I love the colors. It looks great on that wall too! Yum! Where will you use this one?

Beautiful quilt, I love those colours together.

That quilt is fantastic!

I love that quilt top! I should get my bee blocks together, instead of a stack on my shelf.
I've always liked Google, but they are getting a little pushy with their Big Brother thing. Not sure how much I like it.

Penny, you still are on my dashboard and Google Reader! I agree that I hate all the changes happening lately. It is hard to keep up.

I subscribed to you in my Google reader and you show up there. It's just the "friend" element that was taken away. Why? Who knows?

I am not attracted by the colour orange normally, however, your quilt could very well inspire me to give it a try someday. Truly effective colour combination with this variation of greys!

Very cool quilt top Penny! I don't even try to figure the internet out -- I hate facebook and it takes too much time from the stuff I love to do to figure everything else out. I just keep blogging -- I'll still be here when everyone else has moved on LOL!

Alot of those who have lost the GFC are now using another one called http://www.bloglovin.com/ if you want to check into using that one now.
I made sure to subscribe to those blogs using the email notification that many have on their blogs. I actually like that much more since I will get the notification email each time a new blog post has been done. So that's another thing you could add to your blog also.
Hope this helps.
