A few days before L-man and I went on our Thanksgiving trip, I came across Amy's reindeer pattern and I decided right then I wanted to make it first thing when I got home.
At first, I wanted to make a Christmas pillow with it, but after being inspired again and again by all the Christmas quilt action going on out there, I settled on a quilt instead.

So this last weekend I took a time out from all I have to and need to do and finished my Blitzen quilt top.

And now that I've watch Angela Walters craftsy class on free motion quilting (while I basted Blitzen),
I think I know how I'll quilt him. I'm just waiting for my Supreme Slider Teflon mat to arrive and then I'll get started.
Hope your week is going as smoothly as I'm anticipating quilting Blitzen will go!

Penny

So cute! Love that you didn't center Rudolph! Believe me, I don't FMQ too well, but that supreme slider really makes it easier!

that is awesome! i love it. i can't wait to see it when you got it all quilted up. due to some life circumstances, my holiday cheer has been waxing and waning this season...but your quilt top is really helping to put it over the edge and get me into the right mind set for cheerful making and crafting. :)

Very Pretty! I love the blue frame around Blitzen amongst all the variations of reddish and greenish! After reading Angela's first book, I was really inspired to FMQ up a storm! She really breaks it down into doable components!

Wow, this is awesome! I can't wait to see it all quilted and finished. I'm still afraid to try FMQ. I'm sure yours will turn out great.

Hi! I am so impressed with your quilt. I am "in" Angela's class too but I rarely think of putting it on for companionship while I work. I have to do that! Thanks for the suggestion. I'm eager to hear your review of the mat as well.

He is fantastic! I love the overall design of the quilt. Especially how you used blue only to frame up Blitzen! Well done.
