Yay! It's here again, the Blogger's Quilt Festival!
For this BQF, I've decided to tell about my Storyteller quilt.
I made this about 11 months ago for my dearest friend Glynis, for her birthday.
Each piece of fabric in this quilt has a story. They were either given to me or they are fabrics that Glynis mentioned she likes.
For instance, do you see that orange and blue floral fabric in the center of the "Polly goes to Paris" flower? Glynis gave that fabric to me in the form of a dress that was cut out, darted, and ready to be sewn together. It belonged to her grandmother.
And do you see the sweet little hexes from the flights of fancy line and the orange Amy Butler polka dots? Those were from some scraps Sheree sent to me.
And the blue calico in the upper right flower and the pink calico in the center flower 3 rows down? Both those calico prints had been in my stash for years. Like since high school. I made shirts out of them back in the day.

You can't see it in this photo, but in addition to quilting inside each hexagon flower, I quilted some eiffel towers in there too since Glynis has this thing for Paris.
I bound the quilt with some scroll fabric by kei. This was the first time I sewed a quilt binding on by hand. And by golly, I don't think I've done it since!
Thanks to Amy for putting on the BQF and thank YOU for stopping by!
Have fun looking at the rest of the quilt entries!
~Penny
Oh you got me there - I can never pass a hexagon quilt without stopping to have a proper look. Lucky Glynis!
