It's finished!! And it turned out a little crazy, I have to admit. Crazy good though! And here it is, my completed DQS9 quilt, "walking the hedgie". Being shipped off tomorrow to a home near you?
The triangle lady was really bending my ear about having a flowing, copper-colored mane to go along with her fish-net stockings. And the hedgie was saying something I couldn't quite make out for the longest time. I finally realized what he was saying though. He wanted me to make sure the badgers knew they weren't welcome. So I put up a sign.
And.....
Starting Sept 8th! Heather has come up with a new spin on it, make sure you check it out!

It's doll quilt swap time!
Who out there is participating in DQS9? Me too! The first time I signed up, I really didn't know what to expect, if I would like it or not.
What I'm finding out though, is that I absolutely love participating! It has given me a chance to be creative on a new level and try things I might not otherwise try.
So here's my quilt so far. It's called "walking the hedgie". And that's triangle lady there. I have a few ideas up my sleeve for finishing it off. I hope it turns out as good as it looks in my head!

p.s. you can find the hedgie paper piecing pattern here, and the triangle lady and shoe are patterns made by me!

Not, not, not! It's SNOWING here. Right now. It started last night and we have about 3.5 inches on the ground this morning. I mean, really? People were just out mowing their lawns the day before yesterday.
Potholders and skillet handle cover made for Malka's great potholder swap.
Have a great Wednesday!

I have to admit, when I first heard of the doll quilt swap, I thought it was a silly idea. I mean, when I make something, I want to be able to use it, right? And how in the heck was a quiltie the size of a large book supposed to keep me warm???
I don't know what possessed me to sign up for the doll quilt swap7, but I did. And now I know why people get so crazy about doll quilts! They make a great wall hanging, duh! So now my hope is to someday, when I have a proper sewing area, to have a wall dedicated to these little beauties that I get through swaps.
Sign-ups for the doll quilt swap8 started and ended the first part of January. If you're interested in participating in the next round, which will probably happen late spring or early summer, here's the doll quilt swap group link to check after this round is over.
This is the quilt I made for my secret partner
